The Wales international says he is now back to full fitness after struggling with an ankle injury that he picked up against Blackpool towards the end of last season.
Tottenham star Gareth Bale says he will be fully fit for the start of the season after injuries marred the second half of the last campaign. An ankle problem picked up against Blackpool ended the Welshman's season, but he insists he has recovered from the injury and will be ready for the club's first game of the new campaign.
He told the club's official website: “I've got back from my ankle injury and don't feel anything at all, touch wood. I feel good, the whole team feels good and I think that shows in the performance.”
Despite Tottenham winning only one of its three preseason matches in South Africa, Bale insists there is more to friendly games than the result.
“I don't think we played to our best in the first two matches but we showed what a good team we are in the final and showed the South African fans what we're all about,” he said. “The matches were a real test and that's what preseason is really all about, fitness."
