Tottenham 4-0 Liverpool: Modric, Defoe & Adebayor on target as Adam & Skrtel red cards sum up dreadful day for Dalglish

Four goals from Spurs illustrates the sheer control Harry Redknapp's men had as Kenny Dalglish could do little as his side imploded in a horrific display from the Merseyside outfit

A dominant display from Tottenham with goals from Luka Modric, Jermain Defoe and a brace from Emmanuel Adebayor were too much for Liverpool as the visitors had Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel sent off in a game which the home side controlled from start to finish.

Tottenham erased any memories of the drubbing to Manchester City as home debutants Adebayor and Scott Parker started against a Reds side who never looked like winning.

The home side had set themselves up to get at Liverpool right from the first whistle. Adebayor could have banished any memories of his Arsenal days when his effort after four minutes spilled wide of the Liverpool goal. The move was instigated by the Togolese man and involved Niko Kranjcar, but the final touch was wayward.

Former Dutch International Regi Blinker in Nepal

It was a fine afternoon in Kathmandu. Former Dutch International, Regi Blinker was ready to speak with GoalNepal.com at Soaltee Crown Plaza, Kalimati. Regi has come to Kathmandu to address the media about the Superstar match against Nepal on November 4.

The football legends like Zinedine Zidane, Oliver Kahn, Patrick Kluivert, Rudd Gulit and others are expected to come to play in a charity match in Kathmandu. The event is being organized by JPR events, which has already organized the Bryan Adams Concert.

Let's first read who is Regi Blinker.

Reginald "Regi" Waldi Blinker (born 4 June 1969 in Paramaribo, Suriname) is a former Dutch footballer of Surinamese extraction, who played as a left winger.

During his career, he was also known for his dread-locked hairstyle, and played three years in Scotland with Celtic, after notably representing Feyenoord.

His Football career

Blinker began his career with Feyenoord Rotterdam in 1986. He stayed at de Kuip for 10 seasons, including one on loan at FC Den Bosch, and formed an efficient winger partnership with Gaston Taument (from 1991–95, the pair combined for 61 Eredivisie goals).

In January 1996, Blinker joined Sheffield Wednesday, scoring a brace on his debut, a 3–2 defeat against Aston Villa, instantly becoming a crowd favorite. At the peak of his Sheffield Wednesday career, Blinker was set to earn a sponsorship deal with a major sunglasses manufacturer. Much to the amusement of the British press the deal was scrapped when it was revealed Blinker had been mistaken for Edgar Davids, a footballer renowned for his use of eyewear. He moved to Celtic F.C. in part-exchange for Paolo di Canio during 1997, and was coached at the club by Feije legend Wim Jansen.

Blinker played in Scotland for three seasons, returning home in the summer of 2000 to sign for RBC Roosendaal. The next season, he signed for Sparta Rotterdam, where he finished his professional career in 2003. He played for amateur team Deltasport Vlaardingen for a few more years before officially retiring in the summer of 2006.

He also won three caps for the Dutch national team while at Feyenoord, making his debut in 1993, and his last appearance a year later.

Regi Blinker

Excerpts from the talks:

G.N: Hi Regi, Welcome to Kathmandu. Any impression about Nepalese football before coming here?

Regi: Thanks. Well, frankly speaking, I dont know much about Nepalese football. This is my first visit to Nepal. But, we are here to help Nepalese football through a charity match in November.

G.N: Everybody is questioning about the coming of big players like Zinedine Zidane and others? Can you please confirm it whether they are coming to this Himalaya country?

Regi: Well, nothing is certain and confirmed. They are big players and they have many commitments. But we have spoken with them and they have agreed to come. Lets wait till last week of October. We want to surprise Nepalese football fans!

Regi with JPR officials.

G.N: Do you have any plans for the development of Nepalese football?

Regi: Yes. We are participating in the charity match for a noble cause. We will donate the amount to the organizations which are involved in sports. We recently visited Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club and we feel sad by hearing that Nepalese clubs do not have proper training grounds. I will do everything possible from my side to help Nepalese football.

G.N: What do you think about Asian football?

Regi: Asian football is rising. When I used to play in EPL with Sheffild Wednesday in 1996, there were no Asian players. Now, you can see many Asian playing with Europeans club. Asian players are disciplined and modest.

G.N: Thank You Regi for your valuable time

Regi: Thank You to you too. I have visited GoalNepal.com for many times when I was in Holland. Keep up the good work.
